New Jersey Devils Sign Yaroslav Dyblenko

Andrew "Drew" Horun is a volunteer soccer and wrestling coach and a member of Phillipsburg High School's wrestling team. An avid sports fan, Andrew Horun counts the New Jersey Devils as his favorite National Hockey League (NHL) team.

After finishing at the bottom of the NHL's Eastern Conference in the 2016-17 season, the Devils have been actively seeking to improve its organizational depth with free-agent signings. The team added college defenseman Michael Kapla in March and, in April, signed Russian player Yaroslav Dyblenko to an entry-level, two-year contract.

Dyblenko spent the past two seasons playing for Spartak Moskva of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and recorded 18 points in 102 regular season games. The 23-year-old, left-handed shooting blueliner has played 180 career games in the KHL and has 12 goals and 27 assists. Dyblenko received the KHL Defenseman of the Week honor during the 2014-15 season and played for the Russian under-20 team that won the bronze medal at the 2013 World Junior Championships.
