HTBLuVA Salzburg: Wayfinding System

HTBLuVA Salzburg:
Wayfinding System

The largest school in western Austria — the HTBLuVA Salzburg — has a complicated building structure, due to its symmetrical architecture. As a part of our visual identity project for the institution, we designed a new wayfinding system, which should serve as a buddy for students, teachers, and visitors. In order to accomplish that, we shaped the idea of “early information”. We wanted the user to find its way without actively searching for directions — and created an innovative wayfinding system which is always present, thanks to its bold typography. It gives people the needed directions early on: for example when they climb the stairs. In order to enhance the overall vibes inside the building, we additionally created “building claims”: motivational statements to look at and smile — every day.
