My children's wear collection was inspired by the pseudoscience idea of indigo children. Instead of diagnosing their child with a learning disability because they are different, parents accepted the differences and shined a positive light on them. The labeling of a disorder can be extremely limiting on a child's creativity. I juxtaposed this idea with the influence of the indigo children on the up and coming rap scene. These artists are challenging the ideas of gender and sexuality in what they wear and what they say.
