Penghuni Rumah Tua - RtR Accelerator Project
So, I've been busy for some moment with this project. I was selected as illustrator for RtR's workshop (Room to Read). It was very nice and I got so many knowledge from there. I will share what I've got a little. I don't know whether I can share to public or not, but since I haven't signed any NDA letter.. so... maybe it's okay hahaha... *hiding*
Storyboard:
I am used to draw with fine line art. Thanks for the previous projects. It helps me to work with this neat level hahahaha. My editor said I over did it for storyboard (seriously?). It supposed to be just flat color but I thought I need to do some more retouch there and there, wahahahaha.
Coloring phase:
I like this spread before, but when I printed it out, the result was... *$^@%$@(#&@.. THE CHARACTERS WERE BLENDING WITH BACKGROUND AND OBJECTS! LOLOLOL It made me frustrated but then I had a dream. Maybe too much thinking... Marco Bucci, my fav illustrator, told me in my dream to add some highlight, so the characters would be more prominent. Thank you Marcooo!! You are my hero!!
AND VOILAA!! After I changed this spread many times..... in the end I kinda like it..
The monster behind the boy is a reog ponorogo. Seriously... I can't draw a monster or something scary.. I dunno. I just follow the references I've got from google kwakwkawa... But in the end... This spread was trashed.. Not used.. Hueee....
This is the cover's book. No change from the start hahahahhaha. Lucky me. Oh only the character.. The writer swap the main character, so I have to change it.. yah minor revision...
