Brief: Create a video that teaches about a subject that you are interested in.
I've always loved the concept of astrology, so I immediately jumped making it the focus of this project. Nothing is more humbling than trying to explain something to someone and realizing how difficult it is to do so concisely.
Astrology is such an abstract topic and finding an illustration style to explain it with took a bit of thought. I was inspired by the popular use of pastels in internet culture that often accompanies horoscopes and personality profiles about the different signs. This was mixed with a stark black and white illustration style with the goal of creating a lax but serious tone.
With the help of a friend, I was able to add a voice over to the video that matched the tone I wanted the video to have. I paired their voice with music by Podington Bear for a dreamy, clear atmosphere.
