囍帖 / Wedding Invitation

In Malaysia's design tradition, wedding invitations among the Chinese in are usually separated into two sides of identical information - one for the Chinese Language, and the other for English. Some might even opt for a 'contemporary' version by eliminating the Chinese Language.

This proposed design aims to fuse both cultures by unifying the two languages onto a single page. Its layout reference the Chinese tradition and the information is presented in such a manner that each Chinese Language information is accompanied by its English counterpart. As a further reference to tradition, it is letterpress printed on a thick cardstock. The end result is a presentation of the bespoke modernity many of us seek that also adheres to our Chinese tradition.
