Retrovel is a typeface made to embrace the nostalgic feelings of retro games. The word “Retrovel” itself came from “retro” and “travel”, which means to travel back into the earlier era of games. This typeface was inspired by my interest of games, of course, and also many retro games that I have played in my childhood.
This kinetic typography video is showcasing Retrovel typeface itself in a teaser video of a game exhibition, which is also called Retrovel. I give colors and gradients that could express the retro feelings the most. Seeing this typeface reminds me of old games that I used to play in my Gameboy and PC in my childhood, such as Pacman, Mario, Pokemon, and many others.
