The conference was held to investigate a whole range of artistic practices and pedagogical strategies and to bring about access to arts education for the underprivileged. To demonstrate the ways in which arts education can shape the cultural imaginary of a just and equitable society within the space of the classroom and beyond. To enable a conversation between the parallel worlds of researchers, practitioners and teachers.

The Arts Education Conference calls upon the artist to consider the varied role [they] can and do play in society, including that of social critic, researcher, inventor, poet, provocateur, philosopher, visionary and activist.

To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

The message the Arts Education Conference was sending out was a strong one, covering a range of important topics. We did not want to dilute the significance of even it’s fine minute details. So instead of creating a singular monogram, we thought of taking each letter of the “Arts Education Conference” and visually assigning a story to each. This gave us a bigger canvas to work with, making sure none of the essence of the conference was lost.
