It puts 'serif vs. sans-serif' arguments into perspective doesn't it? How times change...
Many studies have been conducted into typeface legibility and readability
with no shortage of ideologies and personal preferences on either side.

The simplest and most practical maxim still seems to be:
'we read best what we read most'.
