Cacti are often referred to as the gems of the desert. For these travel guides, I wanted this to be a strong concept so I illustrated each cactus with a different geometric shape that I felt resembled a gem that could be used as a motif throughout the guide. This way they could be unified but also different. The guides are also unified by their identical grid system, and once again separated by having each guide a different color. Each guide has a simplified illustrated map to relate back to the cacti illustrations, and a cacti checklist so the traveler can cross off each one they find during their cactus-spotting road trip.
