2017年由朱銘美術館與國立臺灣藝術大學共同合作的《小世界－袖珍雕塑的奇異想像》，從「小世界」的概念出發，討論雕塑藝術的「小」所包含的各種可能性。不僅重探朱銘小型雕塑的美學內涵，同時連結朱銘美術館典藏作品之美，並邀請臺灣、中國、日本具代表性的藝術家，以及國立臺灣藝術大學年輕藝術家，近百件小型雕塑作品共同展出，以「人生百態」、「虛實之間」和「另類想像」作為展覽單元，透過有別於過往的觀看角度與美學視野，帶領觀眾一同品味不同國家、年齡與身份的藝術家們所創造的各種小世界，讓人一窺雕塑小世界獨有的精巧、華美與幽微等與眾不同之處。
Mini World – The Fantastic Imagination of Shoebox Sculpture is a collaborative effort between Juming Museum and the National Taiwan University of Arts in 2017. Inspired by the concept of “mini world”, this exhibition explores the many possibilities of “miniature” in the art of sculpture, re-exploring the aesthetic nuances of Ju Ming’s small scale sculpture while relating to the beauty of the Museum collection. Artists from Taiwan, China and Japan are invited to feature their artworks with the young artists from the National Taiwan University of Arts. Nearly 100 pieces of small scale sculptures are featured in All Walks of Life, Virtuality and Reality, as well as Alternative Imagination. With a perspective and aesthetic scope distinctive from those of the past, viewers are introduced down a path through the many mini worlds created by artists with different nationality, age and identity, shedding light on the subtle distinctiveness of shoebox sculpture that is exquisite and elaborate.

A World between Virtuality and Reality
思緒在虛實間連結，媒材在點、線、面串聯，空間在穿透性之間產生相互呼應。
Thoughts weave together virtuality and reality, mediums connect points, lines and planes, while spaces permeate, echoing one another.
/ 另類想像的世界 /
A World of Alternative Imagination
超乎想像、違反邏輯、獨一無二的思考，創造出與眾不同的另類世界。
Beyond imagination and defying logic, a matchless way of thinking creates an unparalleled alternative world.
