This was our first design/build project in university, where a group of students and I were to create a “warming hut” that would be a part of the public Ramsey Lake Warming Huts Event hosted by Laurentian University.

Establishing its name by the end of the design process, we re-titled the assignment by exploring warmth by collection and gathering in a communal area within the hut.

Nevertheless, the revealing structure protects you from the strong winds on the ice in the sitting and standing sections. Using well-crafted wood joints to hold the entire figure together, the hut requires zero metal to present a beautiful structure while remaining strong against the winds, and skates.
