We created a campaign to raise funds for The Kgosi Neighbourhood Foundation and give Jo’burg street orphans their wings back. We named the campaign: There are signs of hope everywhere. It proceeded to raise thousands in funding for the school and was a winner of the Sappi Ideas That Matter competition.
The Kgosi Neighbourhood Foundation was founded in 2004 with a mission to bring educational light into the lives of vulnerable children in the Johannesburg, Jeppestown neighbourhood and its surrounding communities.
Its first initiative, the Wings of Hope pre-school, provided members of the local community with excellent pre-school education to ensure school readiness, and academic success in the years that followed. The Foundation has now assisted 413 students and their parents, providing education, advocacy and compassionate care to those in need.
