To attract and inspire young consumers, Sprite asked us to develop communication that resonates with the defiant spirit of South African youth. I found Nelson Mandela's praise poet Zolani Mkiva and wrote for him an inspirational mantra about Obeying Your Thirst. He delivered it in his own charismatic and unique style. The radio spot succeeded in giving much need relevance to Sprite South Africa's brand positioning.
