Winning entry Fashiondag Design Contest

This is my winning entry in the Fashiondag design contest sponsored by NDC Mediagroep. The winning entries are being shown at the Wonen & Co. lifestyle market from 16-19 March, 2017.
This image shows the front and side views of the top made from laser-cut, leather sourced from a vintage men's winter coat. The pattern for the top as well as the laser cutting design were first developed in Adobe Illustrator and is inspired by cast iron fencing, corsets and enlarged lace motifs. Virtually all of the materials are recycled or vintage except for notions like thread, zipper and cording.  The buttons are antique jet from circa 1910.

This is the back of the ensemble showing a detail shot of the lacing. Also visible is how the cut of the dress is based on the top, the position of the straps, neckline and flares in the skirt all correspond with cut and design of the top.
This image shows the dress without the top and a detail of the bodice. The damask fabric and lining are unused vintage materials. The bodice view also shows symetrical and centered placement of the pattern woven into the damask cloth.
The back of the dress featuring a detail of the back bodice.
From left to right: A miniature drawing of the laser cutting plan, a detail shot of the front lacing, a detail shot of the upper back, a detail shot of the interior 'petersham' band ( a couture finish which removes stress on the zipper)
