Monotype: Type Reinvented

How type can become responsive, emotional, platform-adaptive, whilst remaining a powerful messenger of information, style and identity? In three unique digital art installations, FIELD and Monotype explore the future of typography.

In todays information-dense digital landscape, typography is the key communicator to reach across all media, yet font formats are as static as they were before Desktop Publishing. 

Over the course of a year, FIELD researched for Monotype how type can become smart, dynamic and emotional through new digital approaches; interactivity, generative design and data input. Out of a range of concepts for digital type showcases, three installations were created for Monotype’s presence at creative industry events.
