The Brass Monkey
The Brass Monkey a new live music venue in Shreveport, Louisiana commissioned me to create two murals one approximately 8' tall and 20' wide on top of the building and another inside approximately 4' tall and 8' wide. This was a fast passed project finished in three days before there grand opening. Contributing artist Johnny Bicknell and Kathryn day made this possible.
The process stared with laying out the already designed logo and printing it to clear vellum to be projected by a standard light projector. Then traced with a large sharpie and correcting the lens distortion. Next we gathered our supplies then went to work painting the traced image with exterior paint. The inside mural has a few extra embellishments by using a metallic paint. This was a fun and fast project.
