JRyanArtist - Art Production Firm was commissioned by Apex events to create a first-of-its-kind vertical salad bar.

 

The main material used was MDF and Cedar. I designed the frames using Adobe illustrator and fabricated them into a free standing box like structure to sit a an 8ft table.

 

Each frame is approximately 4' tall by 2' wide with feet on the bottom. I stained and sealed each frame, allowing many weeks to dry, knowing It was being used for food service applications.     
      
This was a cool, clever project that had its own challenges. I had to figure out how the lettuce was going to fit into the wall so, I designed a mushroom like shape lattice. Then I wanted to use a food safe type wood like cedar and a food safe stain and clear coat so the walls could be cleaned.
