The creation of the Ocala brand was my final graduation project in Product Design at UNESP Bauru in 2017.
The glasses gather the careful selection of alternative materials and efficient processes, with reduced waste. Made one by one, they are the result of the combination of handcraft and contemporary processes.
Bamboo was chosen as the main raw material for the frames because it is resistant, lightweight, fast growing and a great carbon sequestrator. Castor oil resin was used in the manufacture of glued laminated bamboo sheets and as a sealant, which makes the glasses waterproof!
