Martyrdom in Palestine

This book is a study is an empirical and visual investigation of Palestinian suicide bombers. It is intended as a balanced overview and introduction to Palestinian and Israeli history, suicide and the history of conflict in the region.

It considers suicide attacks as a social and political phenomenon, one that is dependent on both organizational and individual-level explanatory dynamics. It offers qualitative and quantitative analysis to explain why Palestinian armed groups have stepped up their suicidal operations, following 911.

Visually, the information has been presented similar to that of an atlas. Users can read about a specific section and then be directed to another page that relates to the previously read information. Infographics are a focus throughout the book to give a clearer context about the complex information.

This project was self-directed and the parameters were identified through extensive research as well as consideration of content, form, intension and audience.
