This is a brand story
Diono is a carseat manufacturer with headquarters in Seattle, Washington. When I first met Diono their website and design was being developed in house, and they were in need of a rapid update to their website. Internally the website redesign project was in jeopardy of not hitting the data goals that Diono had laid out for it. The design was timid and not on brand. The website was also built upon a version of Joomla that was soon to be retired, and the site was not mobile friendly.

Rapid Redesign & UX
No website projects are ever alike, and Diono was no exception. The new US website had to launch within 60 days. This meant that we had to work quickly,  ensuring every step of our process was adhered to. We performed research and competitive analysis while we worked on the sitemap and wireframe development.
Focus on the Products
The carseats are the safest in the industry, but due to their shape they are not conducive to the fit within the typical constraints of an image rectangle online. The solution was to highlight the carseats by showing its details.
42 days to launch
When you design a website (with eCommerce) in 42 days, much of the design has to be driven by experience and solid decisions without time for second guessing. Joomla is not one my favorite platforms (not even in the top 10) but for speed we had to stay on this platform in order to achieve the goal.

The interface design focused on representing the Diono brand whilst providing white space to the content and products. Diono is a lifestyle but they are the safest car seat on the market brand. Research, wireframing, client input, interface design, HTML coding, CMS development, content transfer and server deployment. 42 days.
Design Evolution
All brands must evolve. With technology and with their audience. After years of assisting Diono with their global website and brand it was time for a new evolution. Their internal team was tired of using Joomla, as a platform and tool, and they needed something that would be easier to grow with the company.

We took the opportunity to propose a updated interface design, that increased the amount of white space and provided more detail space for product close ups
