This was an academic project, using generated and found content, the task was to develop an experimental book (from the content, title, cover, layout to other special features). This should celebrate an aspect of typographic culture and the piece should be positive, with upbeat messages that inform, educate, excite and invigorate the reader.
The theme is celebration. The experimental analogue book I did, is based on the work of John Baskerville. The content has the letters he sent to his clients and where he stated his feelings and thoughts when developing the typeface and paper improvements. For the title I used this letters' analogy, as in letter (character in the alphabet) and letter (written correspondence) that were behind the whole process of creation of the typeface.
Within the book there are some pages composed in letterpress to celebrate him more, as well as different kinds of papers used.
