What is a Space Player?
Space Player provides a hybrid illumination and image-projection solution to enhance displayed objects or create vivid signage in variety of locations and applications. The ability to combine customised spotlighting and ambient illumination, still images, and moving pictures grabs attention in retail environments, while harnessing brightness and resolution to deliver text-and-image information clearly in exhibition spaces. With freedom to project a variety of media, and in-browser control for networked units, it’s never been easier to transform your display.
I was tasked to create a photoshop file of a canvas size 1024 x 768 (for the size of the display table). I created a display of a variety of food, spoon and a menu. The menu will be the tool to interact with the user later on. After creating the display on photoshop, I used Adobe Animate CC to programmed out the interactivity between the menu and the space player.
For example, when “Dessert” is selected on the menu, the display on the plate will show "Ice Cream". To have this interactivity on the actual table, I have to link an Arduino Board through a server proxy to establish a connection to the AS3 codes in Adobe Animate CC.
What is an Arduino Board?
Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for anyone making interactive projects. Arduino senses the environment by receiving inputs from many sensors, and affects its surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and other actuators.
Here's a short clip on it.
