Typography | Squares and Grids
This project is about exploring grids and creating grid paper for the people to create their own glyphs. I am not creating a typeface or glyphs however, I drew some examples on how some people might draw on these grids. I was inspired by part one of this project in which we had to investigate the form of a square. What I found interesting was the shapes we get when we overlay or pattern shapes, so I tried to use that in creating grids out of different basic units and see how they can be used to create glyphs.
In grids 1 & 2 the basic and important rule is to stay inside a square using the coordinates inside the shape and touching at least 3 sides. the overall width of the glyphs should be equal to the whole square frame.
In the cube grids (grid 3 a-d) the way is to color in the borders where at least two are thick and at least one is thin.
