This is a painting I did, illustrating a reptile being pursued by a bird of prey. I decided to illustrate a New Zealand Tuatara lizard, which is a favorite of mine. But in order to really understand and to better illustrate the lizard, I studied its anatomy and then I sculpted it and photographed the sculpture under different angles of light to sculpt it better. It was most enjoyable and I learned a lot from this illustration.
