Asked to design any variety of illustration for any variety of advertisement, I decided upon the upcoming Parisian fashion week. My illustration style lends straight from my design style, leaning towards flat shapes with blocks of color. After spotting Catcher in the Rye on my bookshelf, further investigation into the cover designer, E. Michael Mitchell, informed the creative process there after. The end result illustrates the typical street-style photo of a woman walking across the street, with a nod to this particular fashion week location in the crosswalk's stripes. The event is highlighted in the center of the composition, but does not block or steal the spotlight from the illustration behind.
