Marketing campaign Suburgatory.2012
Suburgatory is a word that combines “suburb” in “purgatory.” So feel Tessa, the heroine of the serie, when at age
of 16, his father discovers a box of condoms in his room, and decides to take her away from bad company,
moving to the suburbs with her. But the new neighborhood turns out to be the world of cosmetic surgery and
perfectly manicured gardens ... a real purgatory.
As the series is aimed at young audiences, we created a magazine imitating youth magazines with the
same sections, gossip, oufits, in & out, hobbies, games, advertisements and with a particular gift enclosed in
the magazine: a box of CosmoSex condoms, which happen to be some packages containing liquorice
(imitating the shape of condoms).
We sent this funny false magazine to all the media causing a great sensation. There were those who thought
i was an original journal, and others who kept the box of condoms for a special occasion without knowing
that they were really liquorice, ha, ha! The campaign was complemented with fun on-air promotions as
attached.

Translating the whole magazine (our press kit of the series Suburgatory) seemed not to make sense
since because is a haaaaard task!!!
We assure you that the magazine is very funny in Spanish, written with humor, and trying to imitate the
same sections that appear in magazines aimed at young people with comparisons of fashion styles,
outfits that are IN and OUT, sour reviews, hobbies, games .... and even advertisers! we hope you like it!

The series is really funny with a very dry humour so we devised an extensive “risqué” and irreverent campaign on Twitter focusing on reinforcing loyalty to our series. Participants had to make their funniest phrases using the
“official hashtags” of the series such us #tocamismelones (feel my melons) or #nollevobragas (I´m not wearing panties) #empuja (push)…etc. We launched six different and very funny hashtags and Twitter really turned on
fire!! Participants could win different prizes ranging from video and photographic cameras (Panasonic) to stays in luxury hotels.
These campaign helped us score a hit with regards to using social media letting us rapidly gain a good
reputation as influencer on twitter.
