This jacket was donated to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center as part of the Dyck Collection. It is constructed out of leather pieces which have been sewn together with cotton thread. The inside is lined with a red textile, which is stained and partially detached. The outside is beaded with glass seed beads which have been sewn on with sinew. There are also furs which are probably beaver, muskrat or otter. The metal coils are called gold lace. The various textiles on the outside of the robe have deteriorated, but we could not come up with a reasonable solution to repair them. There were some small insect nests and dust which were removed by vacuuming with a mesh net. The glass seed beads were cleaned with saliva on q-tips.
