Silver and Turquoise Belt Buckle
The conservation treatment of a silver and turquoise belt buckle.
This belt buckle belongs to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. The tarnish was removed with calcium carbonate in distilled water. The metal was tested with a Portable X-Ray Fluorescence machine which confirmed that it is made of silver. The belt buckle was then degreased with ethanol and laquered to prevent tarnishing.
