This three part poster campaign for airbnb was an advertising project developed around the slogan, “Live Like a Local.” This tag-line was meant to function as a means of educating potential new customers on a different style of travel accommodation that they had not yet experienced. It is an advertisement aimed at people who are looking for an authentic experience of a city, rather then being grouped with all the other tourists in a standard hotel.

A minimalist approach to the layout was taken to align with the branding of airbnb’s existing visual content. Different locations throughout the world are captured through a number of visual signifiers: the typeface, the colour palette, the key, and the trinket at the end of the key chain. These subtle markers are meant to empower the viewer by making them feel as if they are in the know due to the fact that they can identity the area being referenced.
