“Ceylon" Retro-Style Map Of The Island Paradise.

Stick No Bills™ wants to help and support artists spearhead a renaissance in Sri Lanka’s poster art movement through the generation of iconic images of this island paradise.
To fulfill this objective they extend an open, time-constraint-free invitation to artists and illustrators from all around the Sri Lanka to participate in the No Bill Piece Prize Twenty-First Century Sri Lanka’s Island-Wide, Free-Style, Free-Entry, Pro-Am Poster Design Competition, launched in association with the Academy of Design’s International Design Campus, Barefoot Gallery Colombo and Artra, Sri Lanka's leading contemporary art magazine.
So after competing in the No bill piece prize by Stick No Bills™,below published art work won the first place in island wide competition. basically my concept is to take the old Ptolemy's Taprobana map and visualize it to modern classic Sri Lanka, well actually It's not the 'actual' shape of Sri Lanka at all, but it captures how it feels both in terms of content and design. also dig the expressway leading the viewer into the artwork.
You can purchase your very own posters and postcards of this amazing paradise island "CEYLON" at Stick No Bills™ and Barefoot galleries. links to get your artworks are mentioned below :
