About the Artiste
Muid Latif signify his interest in modern contemporary dance commercially through
public space in early 2008. His dance was inspired after watching Paula Abdul and Janet
Jackson's MTV and choreography in late 80's. He started dancing just as a hobby when
he was 10 years old. As a teenager, in the era New jack swing, he would perform with
classmates in school performances and later join the cultural dance club back in his
university, performing traditional dance for Sultan of Selangor in 1998 and other events,
dance competitions, shortlisted for for a commercial ad (PlanetFilm Hotlink). His
appearance includes Malaysian Artistes For Unity's awareness and anti-racism
campaign, 'Here In My Home" MTV, directed by the late Yasmin Ahmad & Ho Yu Hang.

Most of the time, Muid Latif enjoy doing modern contemporary freestyles from jazz to
lyrical hip-hop routine. He's very inspired and heavily influenced by renown international
choreographers like Marty Kudelka, Wade Robson, Tina Landon, Tabitha and Napoleon
D'umo, Sonya Tayeh, Donyelle Jones and Malaysian choreographers like Pat Ibrahim,
Farah Sulaiman, Ramli Ibrahim, A. Aris A. Kadir, Zubin Mohamad and Indonesian
choreographer, Yannus Sufandi.

About the Project
"PEOPART" (People & Art) is an on going collaborative art project between Ariff Aris & Darshen Chelliah.
