THE ADVENTURES OF HADLEY AND B
This was a wonderful freelance project started by a friend of mine from college. She loves to travel, and she loves her niece, Hadley. She approached me with this book, written as a gift for Hadley and asked if I'd like to illustrate it. Most of the photographs are her own from her travels, which I incorporated with cutesy, retro-style illustrations.
This book was printed using Blurb.
Blurb required the book to be at least twenty pages long. I made the decision about how spreads were laid out, then included details like these dust pages to fill out our total page count.
This "crossing the ocean" spread was another idea I had to fill out the page count. It wasn't included in the author's original notes on the book, but it ended up being one of my favorite spreads.
