The brief is to create a visual language of a Shakespeare's theatre play and to include Singapore context in the final design. My chosen play is A Midsummer Night's Dream.
The theme of the play is Dream, Magic and Romance. For the poster design, I made use of the negative space and create a minimalistic look. It is a silhouette of a donkey man with woman’s hands around his neck. It is to show that she is in love with him under the spell of magic. The elements are illustrated as flat vector graphics, with solid colours. The colours and the typefaces used are to express the feel and theme of the play which is sophistication, dreamy, magical and romantic.
