Matthew Marosz's profile

Hamprosz Wedding Invitation

As a designer, I've found that incorporating a client's character, hopes, and dreams into the work I do for them is absolutely essential. Even when I happen to be that client. Every designer knows that designing for oneself can be a trying experience. Mix in the fact that its for a wedding (your OWN wedding), and you've got one lethal cocktail. For this letterpressed invitation suite, I wanted the design to communicate both our style as a couple and our individual voices by mixing bold typography with classic colors and vintage inspired illustrations. My initial designs incorporated too many elements and strayed from our vision. But through these early rounds of art, my wife-to-be and I found the right balance of vintage and modern in the design. As I would with any client, I had to step back from the work to make sure I was paying attention to what my client wanted in this piece. From beginning to end, it was a true labor of love.
