The Problem
The state legislature passed a bill that required all agencies to provide ethical leadership training to their employee in a supervisory position.
In order to ensure training was standardized across all agencies we decided to produce the training and we had two weeks to do it.

Discovery
We had existing content, but we wanted to make sure the content met, as best as possible, the needs of the various agencies across the state. We put together a quick survey and sent it to a sample of employees who were in supervisory positions.
In the survey, we had the supervisors identify from a list of topics, what issues they were having the most trouble with in their jobs. We also sent a similar survey to employees with plans to cross reference. This gave us a narrowed list of topics to focus on.
Design
Since my background is in video production, I took the existing content we had, shot a few sequences with the SME to create smooth transitions between videos, edited, and uploaded to youtube so we could embed.

Since we had limited time, and I knew I would finalize the design in code, I went right into designing mid-hi fidelity mockups in sketch. First I designed the default state of all the different training pages.
Then I went through and designed the quiz interaction pages.
Usability Testing
After I had my visual mockups, I went straight into code. I utilized HTML & CSS to build the page and jquery/javascript to handle the quizzing.
After the initial build was completed, I sat down with 5 different people to perform a usability test. I discovered critical problems with the design, readjusted and retested. Unfortunately, the SME I was working with got sick and didn't have time to build out all the quizzes, so I had to remove the quizzing function for the time being.
