Reflection
The presentation with Michael Coleman was a very enlightening presentation about what it was like working in the industry. For those who don’t know, Michael is a voice over actor, director, and he played as Happy for Once Upon A Time. Michael was very kind and was able to give us an insight to the workings of how to achieve what you want to do in Hollywood, what you should ask schools that you want to apply to. He was a down-to-earth guy and seeing the pickaxe prop was very cool. I think his work in his creative school is really great especially since it comforted people that if you work hard, you will be able to achieve what you dream.
We got to ask Michael questions about the industry and where to learn and how to apply ourselves. He was very informative, advising us to always ask questions to wherever we find ourselves applying for post secondary school. Also, he answered questions about the industry in Vancouver and how it is probably one of the most underrated places in Canada. Vancouver is deemed as Hollywood North because some of the best movies and t.v is filmed there. Also other professions are achievable in Vancouver and that’s why he believes that’s where it is at. Michael was an absolute joy being able to hear him speak about some of the questions I had about the industry.
