Comic design: Fight Squad character concepts!

One of the best things about working on the superhero project Botur's Fight Squad (http://squadblog.tumblr.com) is the opportunity to create concepts for some really freakin' weird superhumans. Given that the point of BFS is 'Superheroes on Crack', the folks on our master character list are not exactly going to be qualifying for the Avengers any time soon, y'know? How, for instance, do you visualise The $6 Man, a hero described simply as 'a reckless hobo who wears a trash can as armour'? But the very stupidity of these concepts actually made for an interesting design challenge: what can we do to make their lameness, well.... not lame? What clever and creative uses could their Z-grade powers and abilities be put to, and how could their personalities / costumes / modus operandi transcend what little potential was visible at first glance? Any idea can be made into a good, nay, great one with a bit of thought; and you can definitely have a huge amount of fun in the process!
1) Concepts for The $6 Man, destroyer of street-level crime.... and member of the superhero
group The Urban Vigilantes! He's Tony Stark on a discount-store budget....
2) Development doodles for Knightingale (top left), Max Liquefactor (top middle),

3) Development doodles for Alkie, The Alcoholic Alchemist (top left), Demolicious (top middle),
and Urban Vigilantes FutureShock and SmoothSayer (rest of page).
4) Development doodles for the Fight Squad Police Force's Stunner (left and top middle),
