This project triggered my love for textile design and also reinforced the idea of being open minded about different materials, textures and applications.
The brief was to create an identity and a selection of hand drawn designs for a textile company. I was inspired by the black sand, rippling waves and unforgiving nature of a special place to me at Te Kawau. This rectifies my decision to incorporate an assortment of flowing lines and circles.
All designs were hand drawn then rescanned into illustrator. This was to enable me to have a bit more flexibility with the lines. From these designs I chose one to be printed onto fabric and had a retro chair re-upholstered.
