"Museu Nacional do Azulejo" - Visual Identity

My MA Final project was based on this brand new identity. With the interest of studying the visual identity and the museums, I came up with the idea to create a new system of communication for this museum that lacks a good structure in his graphics.
In Portugal and inside the museum we find a lot of visual richness in the drawings painted in tiles. Based on this, we (Pedro Serapicos as my tutor) studied the tiles around the country, having already in mind the idea of having the content in the first place.
As our intention to communicate the content as a way to bring the art outdoor
and explore his potential, the result was a piece based on dynamic visuals.
With a spectrum of shapes drawn based on the art in tiles the lettering
and graphics are always mutating everytime through a system based
on an algorithm (all the shapes are fitted in a square grid).
We had the attention to create a visual system consistent in every support and
that extend through signage and wayfinding system.
