Flags of Major League Soccer

Flag for the league itself

This design was based on the league's current logo, with the three stars for club, country, and community.
Atlanta United FC

This design incorporates the phoenix and fire from the seal of the city of Atlanta.
Chicago Fire

This is a stylized take on the crest, which is based off the Maltese Cross logo used by many fire departments, and the 6 pointed stars on the Chicago city flag.
Colorado Rapids

This flag is inspired by the design of the crest, which in turn is inspired by the mountains of Colorado.
Columbus Crew

This one is directly based on the center design of the club's current roundel-style crest.
DC United

This one tends to remind people of Albania's flag, and that's not without merit. This uses the eagle from the second version of their crest.
FC Dallas

This one is a modification of the state flag of Texas to incorporate the now-traditional red and white stripe design from the jerseys.
Houston Dynamo

This one incorporates the orange from the crest, and plays homage to the air force and railway history of Houston; two of the "dynamo" industries that give the club its name.
Los Angeles FC

This one is a combination of the stylized LA logo from the crest, and the flag of Los Angeles. Normally, I'm quite opposed to lettering on flags, but that winged A is too nice to not use.
LA Galaxy

This flag is inspired by the long-running blue sash jerseys, and the four point star from the crest. This is one of the few designs where I stuck with my first idea.
Minnesota United FC

Minnesota's flag is directly taken from the crest. I love the simplicity of the design, and that fantastic loon.
Montreal Impact

This one is inspired by the vertical striped jersey, a motif also found in the crest. As a French-Canadian organization, it absolutely needs the Quebecois Fleur-de-lys.
New England Revolution

This one is based on the unofficial flag of New England, with six stripes for the six states in the region. It also matches the proportions of the club logo.
New York City FC

This flag is based on the flag of New York City, and includes this center design that was based on old subway tokens and subway maps.
New York Red Bulls

This is a massive simplification of the Red Bull logo, turning the winged bulls into bars of solid color.
Orlando City

This flag is heavily inspired by the strong Brazilian influence on both the team and the city of Orlando in general.
Philadelphia Union

This flag is based on the flag of Philadelphia, using the wonderful, simple snake design from the crest.
Portland Timbers

This flag is another design made by simplifying the crest.
Real Salt Lake

This flag features the bicolor design from the flag of Salt Lake City, as well as the crown from the top of the RSL crest.
San Jose Earthquakes

This design is based on the fault line motif from the crest and jerseys.
Seattle Sounders

This one happened partially because of my obsession with Nordic Cross designs, partially because of the Nordic influences in Seattle, and partially because, broadly speaking, Seattle is located in the US's Scandinavia. Also features the simplified Space Needle from the crest.
Sporting Kansas City

This one is another design from a crest. I love the SC design so much, and I think that it's woefully underused, so it's the focal point of this design. The lighter blue stripes are from the right side of the crest.
Toronto FC

Toronto's academy logo is amazing, and that's the design you see here. This one is based on the flag of Canada to make something as distinctly Toronto as possible.
Vancouver Whitecaps

This one is inspired by the representation of mountains on the crest.
