Manchester Homelessness Partnership

I designed a brand mark and identity for the newly formed Manchester Homelessness Partnership; a collective of charities, people with experience of homelessness, public and health sector organisations, businesses, the city council, faith groups and city-wide institutions, whose shared vision is to end homelessness in Manchester.

The final design was chosen by a focus group at The Booth Centre of both people working within these services and those who had used services like the Booth Centre in their journey from homelessness.

This design was inspired by conversations I had experienced with members of the Booth Centre, using the analogy to describe some services approach to homelessness as generic and every person needed tailored support...'a square peg doest fit in a round hole'.

Alongside the brand mark and identity, the design was utilised for the Manchester Homelessness Charter, which calls on organisations working within the city to adopt its values and implement actions through improved working practices and specific pledges.

The Charter was adopted by institutions including Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester Police, Manchester Diocese, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Services, Manchester Metropolitan University and Allied London at the launch on 9th May 2016 and will be displayed by any organisation, or individual, pledging their support to tackle homelessness in the city.
