The Family Care Center, a facility supporting school-aged mothers and their children, was designed in the early 90s with a courtyard play area featuring a fountain, sand box and other play elements. Over the years the courtyard had fallen into disuse for various reasons and needed a renovation to bring it back to life as a part of the facility. This project is a study to add ADA access, new amphitheater seating and shade sails to allow the courtyard to be used for a variety of learning activities. The images are intended to be used for fundraising for the project.

This short animation was created to introduce the design. Producing 2D views that illustrated the many vertical layers was difficult. This animation quickly demonstrated the various elevation changes and design of the shade-sail as a lead in to additional images.
