Manhattan Renovamen is an art direction project built to accommodate the Sydney Biennale. It touches on the thoughts of technology in an apotheosis or god-like state. Society has become so saturated in modern technology. Dedicated to it on a daily basis, that it comes off as religion. A faith. A belief. It showed the destructive nature of technology and expressed my flare for something more epic and cinematic.
One of the key powers of this technological god, was The Manhattan Project, the testing and results of the Atomic Bomb.

At the time of building this project, I was still learning the basics of photography and printmaking. I began to experiment. I pushed myself to try new things and stop living in a comfort zone. There certainly was a challenge in making all the mediums fuse together.

With enough trial and error, I found a solution. I made 5 pieces that focused on photo-collage overlayed with silkscreen. The images contained actual binary coded messages from the Manhattan Project, elements of destruction and war. Then, I created a few large photography pieces that used smoke machines to represent fire and the battlefield. Strange lighting that resembled the glowing and all-seeing eyes of this machine lord.

I believe the outcome was a success. In time, I would be honoured to see my project go into an exhibition and send this message to the world.
