With more than 40 years of experience as an attorney in the energy industry, Duke Ligon is the founder and manager of Mekusukey Oil Company. Duke Ligon has also served as the executive director of Oklahoma City University’s (OKCU) Love’s Entrepreneurship Center.

A component of OKCU’s Meinders School of Business, the Love’s Entrepreneurship Center hosts events, workshops, and competitions to help business students gain real-world opportunities before they graduate.

The center hosts an annual event called Entrepreneurship Day, which brings together local and national entrepreneurs in various industries to network with the business school students. Each year, the center also offers the Donald W. Reynolds Governor’s Cup Competition, which recognizes graduate and undergraduate teams and individuals for their successful projects and awards them with cash prizes to support further development of their projects.

While the national average for students going on to graduate school or to start a career is only 43 percent, 95 percent of the graduates of Oklahoma City University’s business program are employed or pursue further education.
