Coffee Photos - Satellite Coffee UNM Campus

I am the General Manager of two coffee shops (Satellite Coffee) located on the UNM Campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  I have worked with coffee for nearly 20 years, both as a barista and roaster.  We roast our own beans locally, and believe strongly in high quality products made with love and care.  We also bake our own pastries and cookies, delivering fresh baked goods daily.

We have a large international population on campus and I personally love to explore the different coffee cultures from around the world.  Consequently we have developed a fairly large menu of drinks which we offer year round but emphasize during international events, such as the World Cup or the Olympics.  All of the drinks shown are "traditional" espresso or coffee drinks except for three.  Two are caramel based drinks, reflective of the current trends in the United States, and the third is a riff on a traditional German tea drink.  I placed "traditional" in quotes because espresso, as it is currently served, is really a product of the 1950's.

I think what we eat and drink reflects how we choose to identify and emphasize aspects of our culture.  It reflects who we are.

All of these photos were taken on my iPhone 5s and run through filters in Instagram because the majority of these photos have been used in our social media efforts.  It is hard to tell from the photos but each drink is at most 8 oz. in size.  These are small gems.

Enjoy.
