The design of this literary journal, entitled VICINITY, features poetry written by Miami University English graduate students. The poems were written in a cohesive manner amongst the students, sharing words and phrases. The journal embraces the fragmented feeling that comes from the poetry by incorporating running lines that intersect both the title and pictures.The journal comes with a dust jacket that is cut at an angle so that the cover photo and title are also fragmented to reflect the inside pages. Each copy is cut at a different different angle, so each viewer has a different experience, creating an easily executed way to individualize each copy of the journal as a form of mass customization.
