Kartinkamqass is a term that I created myself, three Maltese words joined together to form one word that can be translated to paper (karta), ink (inka) and scissors (mqass). One might already assume this with a collage technique. Yes indeed, I use my drawings as cut-outs and create whole new compositions mixing and using different drawings made with ink (and sometimes pencil is included also) from different kinds of paper. It's quite playful and lately I'm using this technique for my thesis and latest children's books illustrations and introducing this technique in my drawing assignments...well, why not?
