Sketches and paitings of local Locations in Elgin
A few examples of sketches/paintings/drawings of certain locations in the local community. Although some of these are not full buildings, I created elements that appeared to be interesting or had something different to it.
"Doorway Entrance"
Created using Pen (2008)
A simple doorway that I drew using a very 'Graphic' or 'Illustrator' inspired fashion.
"Stained Glass Window with a Difference"
Created using Pen, Watercolour washes and White Gouache (2008)
A Stained-Glass window that was a local building I drew, but figured it might make the whole layout stand out if I just painted one small segment of the window.
"Collage of a Door Frame"
Created using Pencil, Watercolour and Ink (2008)
Two views from the same door frame but put at opposite ends of the page, aswell as
being in two distinctively different mediums.
"Three Pillars"
Created using Pencil, Watercolours and Ink (2008)
This layout was actually an accident. I drew the pillar at the top on a page, and left
it to start a new drawing or something. My lecturer then recommended trying something a bit
different and carry on with the same Archway, but in a more abstract way.
"Pillar Close Up"
Created using Watercolours and Ink (2008)
I sketched out a fast five minute image of a Pillar I was looking at and then proceeded to apply varying amounts of brown and other other dull watercolour washes on top.
