Life Drawing and Sketches
Sketches, Drawings and Paintings from various Models in different media
Various materials used to create different features of the body
including faces, hands, elbows and other features of the Human anatomy.
"Harry Portrait 1"
Acrylic Paint on Paper (2008) With this Portrait, I wanted to not necessarily concentrate on shapes, but instead on the Colours
used in the Skin and features of the models face.
"Harry Profile"
Acrylic Paint on Paper (2008)
This was produced with the main focus being on the shadows and highlights on the skin,
and how they create shapes with one another. There was also more focus on getting features
and shapes within the face more accurate.
"Pamela Portrait"
Charcoal on Paper (2008)
This was a time set (10 minute) sketch that was focused on quickly sketching out and deciding where shadows and shapes/features were going to be on the models face.
"Erica Nude Model 1"
Pencil on Paper (2008)
With this piece, I concentrated on the shapes, trying to get everything in proportion from this difficult angle.
"Harry Nude Model"
Acrylic Paint on Brown Paper (2008)
I chose this angle as it was a challenge to get the light on the back to sit just right on the Model. It was also made much more challenging as there was not many features on the back in order to help define the way Harry was positioned.
"Skeleton Knee"
Pencil on White Card (2008)
This excercise was created in order to be aware of what to look for when drawing elements of the Human body. In this case, I had to think about all the different bones that were there whilst drawing the Models knee in real life.
"Rib Cage"
Pencil on White Card (2008)
This was another example of the excercise described above, with this time the focus being on the Rib Cage.
"Rib Cage Side View"
Pencil on White Card (2008)
Another excercise concentrating on the shapes created underneath the skin of the human anatomy.
"Erica Profile"
Acrylic Paint on Brown Paper (2008)
"Hand"
Charcoal on Brown Paper (2007)In this image, I focused in on the hand of the model and tried to give the illusion of
veins and shapes in the hand.
